Was J. Frank Dalton, The Real Jesse James??

"COWBOY"
The man who drove for Jesse James!

When Cowboy Williams was young, he rode the range,
Sat tall in the saddle,
Raised Catahoula pups and chased wild cattle.
In 1946, he met a famous man
Who went by several names,
One was J. Frank Dalton,
Though he was better known as Jesse James.
For several weeks Cowboy drove the old man around,
Visited his cousins of the Ford's Grocery
Near a northeast Texas town.
Cowboy became Frank Dalton's friend.
Spent many evenings listening to tales
That often referred to an outlaw clan.

Then Cowboy went home and told his Daddy
About meeting this unusual old man,
Mentioned the many bullet wounds in his pale skin.
His Daddy told him, "Son",
"He might go by many names,
But you've been running with the REAL
Jesse James!"
Cowboy's stories are now legendary
And all are true.
He tells them with a chuckle,
And a wink from his eyes of pale blue.
